- Choose XVID Files
Click "Add Files" to choose XVID files and add them to conversion
list.
Choose one or more XVID files you want to convert and then click Open.

What is XVID?
Xvid (formerly "XviD") is a video codec library following the MPEG-4
standard, specifically MPEG-4 Part 2 Advanced Simple Profile (ASP). It uses ASP
features such as b-frames, global and quarter pixel motion compensation, lumi
masking, trellis quantization, and H.263, MPEG and custom quantization matrices.
Xvid is a primary competitor of the DivX Pro Codec (Xvid being DivX spelled
backwards). In contrast with the DivX codec, which is proprietary software developed
by DivX, Inc., Xvid is free software distributed under the terms of the GNU General
Public License. This also means that unlike the DivX codec, which is only available
for a limited number of platforms, Xvid can be used on all platforms and operating
systems for which the source code can be compiled.
What is FLV?
Flash Video (FLV ) is the name of a file format used to deliver video over the
Internet using Adobe Flash Player (formerly known as Macromedia Flash Player)
versions 6-10. Until version 9 update 2 of the Flash Player, Flash Video referred
to a proprietary file format, having the extension FLV. The most recent public
release of Flash Player supports H.264 video and HE-AAC audio. Flash Video content
may also be embedded within SWF files. Notable users of the Flash Video format
include YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo! Video, Reuters.com and many other news providers.
