Windows Media High Definition Video (WMV HD) is the marketing name for high definition videos encoded using Microsoft Windows Media Video 9 codecs. Flash Video (FLV ) is the name of a file format used to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player (formerly known as Macromedia Flash Player) versions 6-10. Until version 9 update 2 of the Flash Player, Flash Video referred to a proprietary file format, having the extension FLV. The most recent public release of Flash Player supports H.264 video and HE-AAC audio. Flash Video content may also be embedded within SWF files. Notable users of the Flash Video format include YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo! Video, Reuters.com and many other news providers.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Converting WMD to FLV

  3. Launch WMD to FLV Software by clicking Start -> All Programs -> FLV MP4 Converter -> FLV MP4 Converter
  4. Choose WMD files

    5. Click Add Files
    Click "Add Files" to choose WMD files and add them to conversion list.

    Choose one or more WMD files
    Choose one or more WMD files you want to convert and then click Open.

    • Change file extension of the copy of the WMD file to .zip, for example, sample.wmd -> sample.zip
